Brief Introduction of Zenith’s Hydraulic Cyclone

Hydraulic cyclone is mainly used to grade, separate, concentrate and de-slime in the beneficiation process. When taken as grading equipment, the machine is usually used together with grinding machine to make up separation system in mineral grinding process; while being de-sliming equipment, the machine is used in gravity separation plants; and it is also thickening and dehydrating equipment that can thicken tailings for underground mining gallery filling. There are no moving components in hydraulic cyclone.

Working Principle

When processing metal ore, hydraulic cyclone separates materials by centrifugal separation. When feeding materials at a certain pressure, they will strongly rotary inside the hydraulic cyclone. As different materials have different particle sizes, they will be affected by different centrifugal force and fluid drag force. Small particle size will be discharged through overflow pipe, and so the big particle size will be discharged through underflow pipe. Through a sand pump with certain pressure (usually it is 0.5 kg to 2.5 kg per centimeter) and certain flow speed (about 5meters to 12 meters per second), ore pulp will be brought into the cylinder along the tangent. In the cylinder, ore pulp will revolve along the inside wall at great speed and generate centrifugal force. Coarse and weighty particles will be thrown out under the effect of centrifugal force and gravity.
